Hatha - "Ha" meaning sun and "tha" meaning moon, a practice of pure balance. Of the many styles of hatha yoga available today, Ilona offers a blend of Ashtanga and Iyengaar yoga. Hatha balances mind and body through asanas (postures), pranayama (controlling the life force through breath control), meditation, purification practices, inner focus and withdrawal of the senses. A slow paced and alignment focused class with some chanting. Multiple props available to adi in asana practice as your nadis (channels) open to let the enrgy flow for the process of healing and well-being. Whatever your reason for joining this class Ilona will guide you safely with understanding and love.
Vinyasa Flow - vinyasa means "breath synchronized movement" and is best described as freestyle Ashtanga. The personal journey of discovery begins on your mat. Your cardiovascular system gets going with this sequence of poses linking breath with movement. Strengthen core and mind, promote flexibility and lighten up your life with some acrobatic fun. A touch of meditation to begin and end. The rhythm, flow and groovy music makes this class invigorating and strengthening. For your safety Vinyasa Flow or Yoga Flow classes are ideal if you have a regular practice and knowledgeable of yoga postures and their correct alignment. Learn how to be calm, peaceful and serene in the midst of great challenge on your mat and out in the open world.
Connect with Asana - whether you have a strong practice or simply a beginner this class takes you back to basics and re-kindles all that may have been forgotten. We will break down the poses and their actions, focusing on proper alignment and placement, heightening mind body awareness and deep concentration. Yoga props are provided for a safe and enjoyable practice. This class is ideal for anyone who wants to refine their knowledge of the poses.
Gentle Yoga - is an easy to follow class ideal for anyone new to Yoga or individuals recovering from injuries. Together with the support of mat, wall and props we enjoy a light overall stretch of the whole body. There will be ample time to adjust, modify and hold poses making it accessible for everyone. A gently paced class to help you slow down and loosen up. This class includes beginning and ending, breathwork and meditation.
Meditation - has been used all over the world for thousands of years. Various techniques have been applied but the one thing all cultures and traditions had in common was to quiet the mind. This is a gathering to experience the benefits of these techniques as the never-ending whirlwind of thoughts dissipated. Join our regular practice to enjoy, the healing benefits as we tap into calming the nervous system giving the body an opportunity to heal from ailments caused due to stress hormones released in the body due to daily pressure. If your thoughts wander and your brain never shuts off, this is the class for you.
Restorative - This therapeutic style of yoga soothes your nervous system, calms and quietens the ever so active mind leading you into a deeper sense of relaxation where healing can begin. Aided by yoga props poses may be held for up to 15mins giving you enough time to savor complete release of muscle tension. Bring your own eye pillow or cover to accompany your practice. All levels are welcome.
Revamp - the Triple 'R' of Yoga! Ilona will guide you through 60 mins of yoga designed to Relieve - Recover - Restore. Whatever your age or fitness level, we are all made of fascia, muscle, bone and nerves. This is our chance to relive, the pain, recover from a workout (or lack of one) and restore your Body, Mind & Spirit. A blend of Yoga practices, Massage techniques and Ilona's knowledge during class will leave you feeling relaxed, restored and empowered.
Seasonal Yoga Flow - This hour long class includes Power Yoga with weights to compliment the seasons. Emphasis on Breath work & Restorative Yoga brings you back to base line and gets you ready for the next day. This well-rounded practice for Body, Mind & Spirit includes fitness/workout and relaxation.
Y.O.G.A. - Yoga on God's Advice is a chance to meet and connect with the Lord. Our bodies are truly a temple of the Holy Spirit. Scripture, song and prayer are also a strong part of this practice enhancing this holistic worship expexrience. As children of the Lord, all levels are welcome with yoga mats and props provided for a safe and enjoyable practice.
YOGA Sculpt - Roll out your mat, crank up the music because it's Cardio, Weights, Abs & Yoga in one full body workout. Free weights are optional for this practice. Come shed those extra calories, build strength, tone up to some pumpin' tunes and leave feeling calm, strong and refreshed. Bring a towel, water & a yoga mat and don't forget to smile.
